My sweet Princess...

Princess turned 8 a few days ago and I feel there is so much to tell about this little girl! She has always been sensitive to the people that surround her. She is curious about life and automatically thinks of others feelings. She is quick to laugh and giggle. She is spunky and learns quickly.

When she was little she would snuggle and need to tell us from a very young age all about the littlest details in her life. She is wonderful at explaining what she is feeling in her heart. She also has the ability to sense what others are feelings.

She loves bugs...as long as they aren't in the house! She loves when her brothers want to play whatever game she is playing. She is excited if they will be as excited as she is about the game, although that increasingly isn't the case, what with G-man having an opinion lately. Why can't barbies play with transformers? It would be a perfect world if that were to happen.

We remember when she was a baby she would burrow her body against yours, and want to be close. She's always let me do her hair however I wanted. When she was just getting her hair in, we would put little bug piggy tails in and we would call her "K"-bug.

She always reminds us that her toys have FEELINGS too! She was always concerned about her toys and if they felt lonely.

She has never been scared of strangers. In fact, if she doesn't know you, you are a likely target.

She still likes to be tucked in and we're happy about it!

She is a wonderful reader and is starting to love to read the scriptures. She also spells well and almost always gets 100% on her spelling tests at school (I get to brag :)

There is so much more to this girl that I'm not able to put into words. We love her SO much and couldn't live without her.

  1. I'm so sad we missed her baptism! She is such a little sweetie and I love the special relationship that Katie and Hayes share.

    Funny story...
This happened while we were in St. George for our family trip. The door to the bedroom we were staying in was closed and I needed to grab something inside so I knocked because I wasn't sure who was in there and I heard Katie say "YES--Hayes and I are in here" and I opened the door and I saw them sitting on bed chit-chatting. I asked what they were talking about and Katie said something like they were catching up on things like school, friends, how much they miss each other since we moved away....oh, and Avatar. I thought it was so funny they were in such a deep conversation about a cartoon. Apparently, they are both big fans and they were comparing their favorite episodes.

Even now, when Hayes watches Avatar he usually comments on how much he misses Katie.

  2. What a beautiful girl. Now you've got me crying. Why do they have to grow up? I am denial about my Gracie growing up. Nice slide show.
